Vietnam - Hanoi – November 21-29, 2002

The flight to Vietnam was tough – the traffic was bad due to the festival in Phnom Penh, and we had to detour through Bangkok.  Bill had plenty of time to do homework here – math was top of the list.

The first afternoon in Hanoi we saw a uniquely Vietnamese entertainment.  These water puppets are each about 50 cm high, and are operated by people standing in back in the water.  The art form is 500 years old and was only recently brought back.  The movements of the puppets and the acrobatics of these in the water is remarkable!

And after the show the people come out and introduce themselves to the audience to rousing applause.
