This was our guide in HCMC.  Bill learned some Vietnamese under his tuteledge.

This is Giang and her crowd at the travel group.  He brother is the head of Mai Linh taxis, the green taxis you see everywhere in Vietnam.

A view of the factory we visited – it made clothing for one of the famous brands – sorry can’t tell you which one, and was a world-class manufacturing facility, employing 2500 people in an ISO 9002 certified plant.

We were sorry to leave – and the last day was visiting many people from the YPO community in Vietnam.  We visited the factory we show above, and it was one of the best factories we had been in anywhere in the world, including in the US.  There was no hint of sweatshop labor here – these were people who were getting ahead, even in the communist state of Vietnam.  As the person who owned the plant said to us: “four years ago, the parking shed was filled with bicycles.  Now it is half filled with motorbikes.  In two years, it will be filled with motorbikes, with some of the people owning cars”.  His vision was for a better life for the people who work with him.  And he is succeeding .
